Why Jainism sect discriminates against women
Posted By HilathFirst the Jedis threaten to sue Tesco for hurting their religious beliefs.
If the Jains of India fought more strongly for their rights, nudism will prevail in Maldives’ nearest neighbor (see above photo of Jains).
But like any other religion, Jainism has also fragmented into sects, and the result? Discrimination against women of course:
There is one major difference between the sects. Digambars believe that women cannot attain moksha in the same birth, while Svetambars believe that women may attain liberation and that Mallinath, a Tirthankar, was a woman. The difference is because Digambar asceticism requires nudity. As nudity is impractical for women, it follows that without it they cannot attain moksha.[48] This is based on the belief that women cannot reach perfect purity (yathakhyata), “Their lack of clothes can, therefore, be a hindrance to their leading a holy life”. The earliest record of this belief is contained in the Prakrit Suttapahuda of the Digambara mendicant Kundakunda (c. second century A.D. ).[49] This of course has extreme consequences for women and effectively polarises the two sects in this regard.
I wonder why everywhere in the world it is difficult for women to attain equality – at least where most religions are concerned.

doesnt make sense nor logic if they can attain equality

hihlath!! why do u even ask this question? its so simple… don’t you see its the breasts we women have.. it just comes in between equality and humanity and having every possible right that ever exists..
and thats whats happening in Maldives too. These beardies just cant seem to focus on anything other than sexualising everything from a women s eyelashes, , eyebrow, elbow and dont forget the breasts.. because apparently the pious men in Maldives seem to be misguided in to having sex every second they see a women on the road ..so eventually when u put these devious sexualised objects in a black box ( ofcourse for the betterment of society) their rights are never heard..
i know this is a very late comment but i just started following your blog and couldn’t resist
