Posted By HilathIt is happy to know that the child abuse video that I shared was already shown on the Police 119 show on TVM. The case has been investigated and is at the Prosecutor Generals office according to Mirfath, Police head of child protection. Thanks to Fathimath Nizam for sharing this information with me.
Though, it is at the PGs office, it is a long breath to hold before we know what happens next! Recently we have seen several of ‘lack of evidence’ verdicts letting free murderers. And in order to let this case end in favor of the abused children we should keep a keen eye on the case.
And I really really do hope that all such cases end in favor of the little children that are been so much hurt!

I doubt that some judges working here in Maldives are suitable for their job. This may be because they are well not prepared or they don’t have that much knowledge, since now some are tagged as “old”. May be these judges are the reason why ‘lack of evidence’ is facing to some cases.
we need good judges and a new Evidence Law. Also, a better criminal code with criminal procedures. an overhaul, i would say…
